About Freestyle ACATAt Freestyle Academy of Communication Arts and Technology, students learn and develop skills in effective written oral, visual and audio communication, and work with the latest multimedia technology to find outlets for creative expression. In this 2-year program limited to 72 Juniors and 72 Seniors in small classes of 18 students per class, each student takes English and Design and then takes either Film or WebAudio.
All project ideas begin in English through readings, discussions, critiques, brainstorming sessions, writings and peer editing. Design continues the project ideas through visual art such as photography, illustrations, drawing, painting, clay modeling, books and 3-D art with the use of Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
Film students develop their creative expression further by producing 3-10 minute digital films with Final Cut Studio and After Effects. WebAudio students develop their creative expression by producing HTML5/CSS3 and Javascript websites that include podcasts, photo galleries, animations, audio slideshows, original music, and music videos with Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, InDesign, After Effects, Garageband, Pro Tools and Reason.
At Freestyle, we ask students to communicate their imaginative ideas by producing art through various multimedia visual and audio formats in a project-based learning environment with modern software and hardware tools.
