Web Production / Audio Engineering
Project 7: Senior Project Requirements
The purpose of this individual Senior Project is to showcase your work in writing, digital photography, graphic design, audio engineering and web production. The design of your Senior Project Website is entirely up to you but with some guidelines below. The audience for your website is the world. When completed, the general public will be invited to attend an Exhibition of your website.
The applications you will use for this project, at the minimum, include After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, Pro Tools, Reason, Flash and Dreamweaver.
Deadline for a complete and working version of your Senior Project Website posted on the webserver is the Friday prior to the April Spring Break.
You can choose to create an HTML/CSS based website or Flash based website or both depending upon your need.
What content do you need to include in your Senior Project Website - basically everything about your Senior Project and some "Making of ______" videos to document the experience and show off your WebAudio Skills?
- Senior Project Reflection
- Write a introduction about your Senior Project. Include some highlights for the viewer to look for (photogallery, audio portions, making of videos, etc). Also include an explanation about the Senior Project assignment as you understand it so that the reader can understand the why/how of your experience - what's the point of doing a Senior Project? How is doing a Senior Project relevant to you?
- Include your own honest reflection about your entire Senior Project Topic and Experience. What did you find interesting about your experience? Was the experience what you expected?
- In producing work to document your experience, reflect on your own communication skills using the mediums of writing, visual art, audio and web.
- Add some photos and images to this section to make it visually interesting
- Make an audio version of your reflection - you reading your reflection with some background music and/or SFXs
- Optional: Synchronize photos to your audio reflection
- Feature your English work
- Brief explanation of the Senior Project Research Paper assignment details and requirements
- English Research Paper (probably best to link to a .pdf file)
- Optional: display some headshots of paper interviewees or location/artifact photos along with your brief explanation
- Optional: Create an audio version of your Research Paper so viewers can listen to you reading your paper in your own voice
- Feature your Design Photography work
- Brief introduction text to your Senior Project Photogallery
- Take 25+ photos of varying people, locations, artifacts, etc that are related to your Senior Project Topic
- Create a photogallery with captions
- Create a "Making of Photogallery" video to show how you created your photogallery
- Optional: include appropriate music with your photogallery
- Optional: include audio of you talking about each photo in your gallery
- Optional: Create a "Making of an Edited Photo" how you edited and altered a particular photo or two
- Feature your Audio Engineering work
- Include some audio portion to your website - could be for example: 3 interviews, original website background music; audio version of your Research Paper; audio captions for your photogallery;
- Create a "Making of Audio" video to show how you created any or all your audio
- Feature your Web Production work
- Activate your Project 7 in Sites/index.html to link to your Senior Project homepage
- Design and create a website that showcases all of the above - you have lots of options on how to best do this depending on your Senior Project topic (HTML, CSS, javascript, Spry, XML, PHP, Flash, actionscripting, etc)
- Create a "Making of Website" video to show how you made the cool features of your website
- After 1.5 years of experience of making various websites using HTML, CSS, javascript, Flash, and actionscripting, you should be able to show off your Web Production skills by designing and producing a functional website with excellent design including well executed examples of Contrast, Repetition, Alignment, Proximity and Usability
- You should create a website that will not only document your Senior Project experience but will also help you in impressively presenting your Senior Project to classmates, family, friends and the general public.
- You must include a proper copyright notice on every page
You will create your own plan and proposal about how you will produce this website - click here to get plan template.
